Our verdict
By Sean Lupton · March 4, 2026 · Scored 8.3/10 against how we test
The T1 ST is aimed squarely at the urban rider who wants an e-bike that doesn't look like one. At 46 lb with a low step and single-speed belt-free simplicity, it's ideal for flat-to-rolling city routes and apartment carries up a flight of stairs. Anyone facing steep, sustained climbs or wanting to haul groceries should look elsewhere — this is a lightweight stealth commuter first, a workhorse never.
The 8.3 reflects genuine strength on build and safety: a UL 2271 certified battery, a torque sensor for natural power delivery, and Apple Find My baked in earn high marks on brakes-and-safety and build-and-serviceability. Ride quality is light and quiet. Where it slips is real-world range and motor grunt — the 352Wh pack is small, so the 70-mile eco figure evaporates in higher assist, and the 45 Nm hub plus single-speed gearing struggles once the road tilts up.
The trade-off you accept here is capability for elegance: a small battery and one gear in exchange for a bike that's a joy to lift and ride unpowered. At $1,499 that's a fair deal for city riders on gentle terrain. If your commute has real hills or you ride mostly in high assist, spend up for a geared, larger-battery Class 3 like the Ride1Up 700-Series and give up the featherweight feel.
