Features include racks or panniers for storage, lights for increased visibility at night, mudguards or fenders, a chain guard to protect clothing, and an upright sitting position.
Cruisers are heavy framed bicycles designed for comfort, with curved back handlebars, padded seats, and balloon tires. They are designed for smooth comfortable travel.
Designed for riding on rocky, steep trails, mountain bikes have wide, flat handlebars; fat, grippy tires; low gears for climbing; powerful disc brakes; and suspension on the front and usually rear wheels.
Cargo bikes are designed and constructed for transporting loads. These bikes often have a wire basket, platform, or box for storing items.
As the name suggests, these bikes fold to small sizes, making them easy to transport. They usually have smaller tires and a hinge in the middle of the frame
Road bikes are made to travel at high speed on paved roads. Some have been called ‘sportive’ bikes to differentiate them from racing bikes.
